The lead single “In Plain Sight” was co-written and produced by Mattman & Robin, Savan Kotecha, and ILYA. Other producers on the album include Darkchild and ILYA, among others contributing texture and depth. Though the album does not heavily emphasize guest features, collaborators such as Tove Lo and Julia Michaels contributed to writing on songs. “Out of Body” and “In Plain Sight” were released as singles previewing the album’s theme of self-discovery, love, and liberating truths. With shimmering synths, emotionally sharp lyricism, and Middle Eastern rhythmic touches in places, the album marks a bold new era for Khalid’s sound and identity.
