My Ego Told Me To is the new solo album by British singer-songwriter Leigh-Anne. It marks the former Little Mix star’s first solo full-length project since the girl group entered a hiatus in 2022. The album’s lead single, “Been A Minute” wwas quickly followed by the following single, “Burning Up”. The third single, “Dead and Gone” featured an elaborate revitalization of her Instagram account to mirror the song’s concept of burying her old self. The album was originally intended to be released under Warner Records, the major record label that had signed her following Little Mix’s hiatus, but due to creative differences, the two parties parted ways. My Ego Told Me To marks Leigh-Anne’s first independent release, as her debut EP, No Hard Feelings was the first and only project she and her former label had released together.
